Today we’re (Yahoo! Music) going dark on the biggest internet radio site to build awareness for the coming death of Internet Radio, thanks to some judges who didn’t understand math and a Soundexchange board that should know better. Of all the upheavel in the music business, the area with the MOST innovation and investment (pandora, last.fm I’m winkin at you) from creative geniuses is Internet Radio. Way to squash it dying industry! Brilliant, just Brilliant.
People are more interested in music than ever, yet the industry health is in rapid decline. Maybe we should encourage the one legal area where time spent by consumers is growing. Ya think?
